How to get recruiters to find you on LinkedIn

A LinkedIn report shows the skills companies value most in 2026 and how to adjust your profile and CV to show up in headhunters' searches.
A headhunter's message can fail to reach you simply because your profile doesn't reflect the skills the market asks for today. Before your next search, review every section of your page with one question in mind: what are recruiters really looking for when they filter candidates for CTO, VP of Engineering or Staff Engineer roles?
What recruiters are looking for today
According to the LinkedIn report published by Revista Semana (Revista Semana, September 28, 2026), companies prioritize skills tied to scalable systems architecture, managing distributed teams and the ability to translate technical metrics into business results. Search algorithms weight those keywords and show them first to recruiters who use advanced filters. If your headline and summary don't contain those terms, your profile stays off the radar even if you have the experience.
How to sharpen your profile and CV
Start with your headline. For example, a headline like "CTO at company X" could become "CTO | Cloud architecture, scalability and remote team leadership". In the summary, include phrases like "design of high-traffic platforms" and "turning technical metrics into business KPIs", because those are the concepts the report highlights (Revista Semana, September 28, 2026). In the experience section, describe each role with bullets that start with impact verbs: "led", "defined", "reduced". Avoid lists of technologies without context; instead, tie each tool to a concrete result.
The CV follows the same logic. Keep a master version in PDF and a light version on LinkedIn, and make sure both use the same skills taxonomy so that automated screening systems (ATS) and human recruiters reach the same assessment. Add your LinkedIn profile URL to the CV header and turn on the "digital business card" option LinkedIn launched recently (ALM Corp, October 22, 2026); that way, when a recruiter scans the QR code at an event or in an email signature, they go straight to your updated profile.
What to do this week
- Rewrite your headline using the skills mentioned in the LinkedIn report (Revista Semana, September 28, 2026).
- Update your summary with three sentences that connect your technical experience to business results.
- Review each role in the experience section and add a bullet that starts with an impact verb and mentions a qualitative metric.
- Sync the PDF version of your CV with the same key terms and add the link to your LinkedIn profile.
- Turn on LinkedIn's digital business card and test it by scanning it from your phone.
